Choosing the ideal canopy for your school can be difficult with so many styles and suppliers to choose from. Here are some pointers to help you find the best solution for your school and your pupils.
All our canopies are specially designed and individually manufactured to meet each school's particular requirements. So you won't have to make do with a standard sized canopy chosen from a catalogue.

Health and Safety

Your first consideration will of course be the protection of everyone who uses and comes into contact with the canopy or shelter.

Preventing harm is our first consideration too, from the initial design, manufacture, the on-site installation and for the future life of the shelter.

Design

Every BSB canopy is tailor-made to meet your particular requirement.

Please tell us what you want to achieve and we will design the canopy that delivers the outcomes you are looking for. Every school is different and a standard solution rarely does the job.

Manufacture

A canopy is a big investment and it needs to be made to last. That's why we use steel throughout and Marlon polycarbonate for our canopies. Whilst being clear like glass, Marlon cuts out 98% of the sun's UV harmful radiation. It is shatter-proof and does not discolour with age. All our canopies carry a five year guarantee.

The usual starting point when planning a canopy is its purpose. You may want to create a dry and sheltered space for parents as they wait for their children. Or you may be planning outdoor space adjoining a classroom for learning and play, or a dry and sheltered walkway so that your pupils and staff can move from one part of the school to another without getting cold and wet.

Bike shelters, pram shelters, canopies for outdoor gardening projects, canopies for sand pits, ... the list is endless.

We'll probably be able to give you a good idea of cost there and then. You'll then receive a written proposal with visuals of your proposed canopy which you can use in your discussions.

Once you've agreed everything with your team, we can plan the installation. Most headteachers have been happy with us installing a canopy during termtime or you may want to schedule the work for the school holidays or on a weekend.
